Jerry Ray McCament, 79, of 1505 N. Broadway, died at 1:36 p.m. Monday, June 15, 1987, at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. He had been ill for six months and was hospitalized three days ago. He was born March 30, 1908, in Coffeyville to Lester and Bessie McCament Whitwer [sic]. He moved to Pittsburg in 1980 from Corpus Christi, Texas, where he had been a resident since 1943. Mr. McCament had been an instrument foreman from 1933 to 1943 at the Sinclair Refinery in Corpus Christi from 1943 until his reitrement in 1963. He married Marjorie Marnell June 5, 1933, in Pittsburg, and she survives at the home. Other survivors include one son, Lester R. McCament in Omaha, Neb.; one brother, John McCament of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Sylvia Greenlee of Minneapolis, Minn.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren. His parents, one brother and one daughter, Geraldine Manning, died before him.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Naylor-Quinn Funeral Home, 609 N. Elm, with the Rev. Wayne Black of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Walnut. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
