He was born in Horry County, a son of Rosa Hucks Turner and the late Charlie Turner.
Survivors in addition to his mother of Galivants Ferry are two brothers, Norton Turner of Socastee and Lothir Pat Turner of Galivants Ferry; five sisters, Mary Jane Roberts and Faye Strickland, both of Conway; Minnie Hardy of Thomasville, N.C.; Flora Mae Jordan of Galivants Ferry; and Christine Sellers of Socastee; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today at Thee Baptist Worship Center.
The Rev. Lamar Boulware will officiate at the funeral at 2 p.m. today at the church. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.
