Mustered into the 13th Missouri Infantry, (called the Missouri 13th and which later became the 22nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry in May 1862) on Aug 28, 1861 in St. Louis, Missouri. As they werent put into action until February of 1862 it is believed he died of an illness.
