Robert "Bob" Fontaine was born in Nuremberg, Germany on May 14, 1949. He passed away in Carmichael on February 6, 2012.

He was employed by the state, retiring from the State Lottery in 2002. He was an avid fisherman and a true barbeque nut. He never met a brisket or fish he didn't like. He also had a passion for race cars; from his own drag racing days to his son's quarter midgets.

Bob loved his family, his dogs, and his life. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Fontaine. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra of Carmichael; his children, Matt Fontaine of Modesto, and Ginna Fontaine of Moses Lake, WA; his step-children, Michael Arreola and Socorro Gaytan, both of Dallas, TX, Elena Lopez of Carmichael and Ervin Aviles of Gresham, OR; his father, Wilfred Fontaine of Moses Lake, WA; twelve grandchildren, and many extended family and friends that were dear to him.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Community Church, 5025 Manzanita Ave in Carmichael on Sat. February 18 at 2:00 pm. Fish On, Bob!
