Mr. Adams died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, Ill.
Jack was born May 20, 1928, in Edwards, Ill., the son of Clarence and Agnes (Vicary) Adams. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He retired from the Carpenters Local 166, Rock Island, after 36 years as a union carpenter.
He enjoyed woodworking. He had been a member of the American Legion, the Eagles and the Moose.
Survivors include his brother, William (Jeanne) Adams, Strasburg, Va.; andhis half-sister, Neta (Ruel) Howerton, Galesburg, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rosemary Haynes, half-sister, Marie Stephens, half-brother, Mervin Stewart, and special friend, Betty Bultinck.
