Mrs. Mamie Schultz Johnson, wife of Joseph Johnson, former Peru resident, died in her home, 1534 N. Springfield ave., Chicago, at 7:20 a.m. Friday after an extended illness.
The body will be brought to the Kirk funeral home, Peru, Monday morning and rites will be conducted there at 2 p.m. by the Rev. C. E. Wierth, pastor of Zion's Evangelical church, and members of Lily lodge, Daughters of Rebekah. Burial will be in the Peru City cemetery.
Services will be conducted in Chicago at 8 p.m. Sunday.
The former Miss Mamie Schultz, the decedent was born in Peru Aug. 23, 1886, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultz. She was married to Joseph Johnson about 38 years ago. Her husband operated a grocery store on Main street, Peru, and later was a street car conductor before the family moved to Chicago 20 years ago.
Surviving are the husband: two sons, Walter E. and Arthur J. Johnson, Chicago: one grandchild Walter E. Johnson Jr.; one brother, Edward Schultz, Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Over, Peru.
