Born Nov. 9, 1910, in Prescott, the son of Peter and Ann (Gotzman) Fiedler, he was a 1929 graduate of Prescott High School. He married Irene Trapp on Sept. 28, 1940 in Hastings, Minn.
All his life, he farmed the family homestead in Oak Grove Township, which has been in the Fiedler family since 1868.
Leon loved farming and horses; he was active in civic affairs, serving on the Sunnyside School Board. He was a member of River Falls Mutual Insurance Company Board of Directors for 33 years and also served on the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church Council.
Leon was currently a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Hastings.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, of Prescott; one son, Hilton Fiedler of Prescott, one daughter, Sandra Fiedler of White Bear Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Doris Larson of Ellsworth and Violet Peterson of Nokomis, Fla.; three nephews, Harlan, David and Roger Larson; and two nieces, Mary Ann Schoen and Diane Destrempe.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Hastings, with the Rev. Percy Damrow and Vicar Joshua Martin officiating. Interment at Pine Glen Cemetery.
Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Prescott, were in charge of arrangements.
