On June 18, 1936, he married Marcella Meier and to union were born two sons, Gerald and Roger. He farmed most of his life and was a life-long member of St. John's Church, Oak Grove.
Melvin Fiedler is survived by his wife, Marcella, two sons, Gerald of Grantsburg, Wis., and Roger of Prescott; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at St. John's U.C.C. Oak Grove, with Pastors Jeff Aderman and Sue Stull officiating. Pallbearers were nephews: Ed Fiedler, Tom Fiedler, Donald Fiedler, Robert Fiedler, Ronald Fiedler and Hilton Fiedler. Burial was in Pine Glen Cemetery. Cashman Funeral Home, River Falls, was in charge of the arrangements.
