Ed Fiedler Dies Following Accident

Ed Fiedler, prominent Oak Grove farmer passed away early Wednesday morning following as injury he received when he fell down a hay chute while at work caring for his livestock in the barn.

Mr. Fiedler was feeding the stock hay and in some unknown manner fell down the chute, landing on the cement floor below. The fall was about seven feet. Just how the accident happened is not known, but Mr. Fiedler evidently struck his head on the cement floor or a feed box that stood near where he fell. He got up, walked to the house and after sitting down a few minutes asked to be assisted to the couch. He then soon lost consciousness and remained so until he passed away a little after midnight. The doctor was called immediately after the accident but, there was nothing that could be done other than relieve him of any suffering.

The funeral will be held at the Lutheran church in this city Saturday afternoon at two o;clock.

Mr. Fiedler was born at Port Washington, Wisconsin, on July 17, 1866. When about a year old his parents came to Oak Grove to make their home. Here Mr. Fiedler continued to live until his death.

Mr. Fiedler devoted his life to farming and done well. He was active in much of the life of his community and became well and favorably known in the county. He was highly respected by all who knew him. He was thoughtful and kindly to his family and friends. His passing will not only be a loss to his family but to the community as well.

He is survived by his widow, one daughter and three sons, George and Melvin of Oak Grove and Harvey of Clifton, and Mrs. Fred Janisch of Ellsworth township. Three brothers survive, Herman G. and Peter of this city and Ernest of St. Paul.
Two brothers, Otto and Moritz, preceded him in death
