"Helen M. Barker of Peru, and formerly of Crawfordsville, died Wednesday at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru. She was 90.

Mrs. Barker was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Russellville High School; member of Portland Mills Christian Church; and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born June 27, 1921, at Terre Haute, to Raymond and Claudia L. (Akers) Cunningham. She married Ralph L. Barker on Oct. 12, 1940, at Roachdale. He died in 2003.

Survivors include: daughters, Patty (Boyd) Sharp of Kingman, Donna (Daniel) Day of Peru, Deborah (David) Rawlings of Hagerstown, Md., and Linda (Earl) Taylor of Harrisonburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Sisters, Enola Clodfelter and Alberta Spencer, and grandson Randall Bowman are deceased.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Portland Mills Christian Church. Burial will be at Portland Mills Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St." - Journal Review, Crawfordsville, Indiana, January 19, 2012
