Herman Gustav Fiedler

Herman Gustav Fiedler was born in Oak Grove township, Pierce County, Wisconsin, March 1, 1869, a son of Ernst and Augusta Wenzel Fiedler. He grew up, attended school and spent his young manhood there. He was baptized in the Lutheran church of Prescott and continued in that fellowship until he was united with the Congregational Church.

On July 30, 1893 he was united in marriage to Rachel Brackin of Clifton township. They were blessed with four children, two of whom died in infancy.

Mr. Fiedler engaged in farming in Clifton until 1914 when they moved to Prescott where he helped organized and was president of the Prescott Bridge company from 1922 to 1946. He was also a member of the County Board for 20 years.

Death came to Mr. Fiedler the early morning of Saturday, December 5, 1953 at the age of 84. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star of Prescott and of the Royal Arch Chapter in River Falls. He was also a member and a senior deacon of the Congregational Church of Prescott.

He is survived by his wife, his son Lester of Osseo, Wis., and a daughter, Florence, of Prescott, two brothers, Peter and Ernst of St. Paul, and three grandchildren.

Relative and friends from New Jersey, Port Washington and Osseo, Wis., Minneapolis and Alexandria Minn., Ellsworth and River Falls attended the funeral services which were held at the Congregation Church Monday December 7, 1953 at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon. Interment was in the Pine Glen cemetery.
