Leland Otto Fiedler was born on July 8, 1929, on the family farm to Clarence and Mildred (Jahnke) Fiedler in Oak Grove Township, WI. He attended Sunnyside Country School, then Prescott High School and received his GED from U.W. River Falls. After his schooling, Leland farmed on his family's multi-generational farm. Leland married Marlys Eaton on October 10, 1953, in Prescott, WI. Though their union, they raised four children. Leland was a longtime member of Prescott United Church of Christ. Upon Leland's retirement, they enjoyed their home in Web Lake, WI and Greers Ferry, AK, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and all the outdoors. Hobbies that Leland enjoyed were coin collecting, reading, and he was a collector and a member of the Red Wing Collector Society.
Leland is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marlys; four children: Steve Fiedler of Prescott, Kathryn (Gary) Benson of Prescott, James (Dawn) Fiedler of Garner, IA, and Karen Fiedler of Roberts; three grandchildren: Jason (Nichole) Benson, Jared (Kriste) Benson, and Amanda Winters; three great-grandchildren: Logan, Kendra, and Luke; and four sisters: Charlotte (Harley) Eaton of Prescott, Marilyn Goodrich of Middleton, WI, Phyllis Hatten of Prescott, and Barbara (Terry) Mahoney of Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mildred Fiedler.
