Clarence is survived by his wife, Mildred, and their five children: Charlotte Eaton, Leland Fiedler, Marilyn Goodrich, Phyllis Hatten, and Barbara Mahoney, and their spouses; 15 grandchildren: Deborah Arey, Dennis and Thomas Eaton, Brenda Christiansen, Steven Fiedler, Kathy Benson, James and Karen Fiedler, Diane, David and Benjamin Goodrich, Randall and Leigh Ann Hatten, and Susan and Mark Mahoney; 10 great-grandchildren: Jason and Jared Benson, Tim, Nicole, and Whitney Eaton, Bryttannee, McCoulter, and Slayte Eaton, and Claire and Bohdan Goodrich.
For most of his life, Clarence farmed in Oak Grove Township. He worked very hard and conscientiously at his vocation and often helped his neighbors as well.
In addition to farming, he served for many years on the Board of St. John's United Church of Christ, Sunnyside School Board and the Prescott Creamery Board.
Clarence was baptized and confirmed at St. John's UCC and united with this church in 1961. He has been a faithful church member all of this life.
Clarence was an avid reader in his retirement years. He particularly enjoyed the writings of an historical genre. He was often called upon to recall names of people and places of times long past. He recently contributed information to the authors of the newly published book, A History of Prescott, Wisconsin.
Clarence was one of the stalwarts of the community and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
