Santa Claus, GA - Mrs. Jo Ann Powell Lamb, age 64 of Santa Claus, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at her home after a sudden illness. She was a native of Mt. Vernon, and a 1965 Graduate of Montgomery County High School. She was a licensed practical nurse, a graduate of Swainsboro Technical School, and was a member of the Cornerstone Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lucile Mercer Powell; a sister, Bennielue Powell; and a brother, Bobby Lee Powell.
Mrs. Lamb is survived by three sons, Henry Lamb and wife Debbie of Uvalda, Roy Lamb and Shane of Macon, and Jody Lamb of Santa Claus; one daughter, Melinda Martin and husband John of Santa Claus; one sister, Mildred Powell Curl of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Matt and wife Sheena, Jenny, Katie, Tyler, and Logan; one great-granddaughter, Samantha; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3rd at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Wheeler County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
