Obituary.
Died, at his home on Little Piney, near Yancy Mills, Phelps county, Mo., Nov. 27, 1896, at 2:20 o'clock, Mr. Patrick King, aged 71 years.
Mr. King was born in Galway county, Ireland. He came to America and was married in Ohio to Miss Julia Ann Foley May 20, 1851, and came to Missouri about 38 years ago, where he has resided until death. Nine children were born of their marriage, five of whom survive him. It makes our hearts ache to give up our dear father, relatives or friends, but God knows what is best. He was an honest and upright man.
The deceased leaves a wife and five children, who will miss his kind welcome. Let this thought comfort the surviving relatives and friends: all his afflictions are over; his trust was in the Lord, and He is able to keep that which is committed to Him. His remains were laid to rest in the Rolla cemetery on Sunday, Nov. 29, 1896.
Loved ones, grieve not; he has only crossed over the river to that bright beyond, where sad parting comes no more, to await your coming.
We miss thee from our home, Father,
We miss the from thy place,
A shadow o'er our lives is cast,
We miss the sunshine of thy face;
We miss thy kind an willing hand,
Thy fond and earnest care,
our home is dark without thee,
We miss thee everywhere.
Mrs. Matt. King
