Mrs. Hovey was born on August 8, 1883, near Tomah and lived in this vicinity all her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church all her life.
On September 27, 1905, she was married to Emil Hovey, who preceded her in death in 1954. One son, Raymond, died in 1948. Another son, Alfred Hovey, now lives at Bonduel, Wisconsin.
Four sisters remain to mourn this death. They are Mrs. Emma Hovey of Tomah, Mrs. Martha Gordon, of Tomah, Mrs. Herbel of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Hulda Hahn of Doland, South Dakota. One sister preceded Mrs. Hovey in death. There are four grandchildren.
Mrs. Hovey entered the local hospital on January 29. Death came about 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 1962.
