Joe Armin Webber, 88, of Valley Mills, and formerly of Waco, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Lakeshore Village Healthcare Center in Waco. Visitation will be 10 to 12 noon Monday, Jan. 30, at Foss Funeral Home. Graveside service 1 p.m. following visitation at Boggy Cemetery south of Cransfill Gap on FM 219.

Joe was born in Cransfill Gap, Texas, to the late Jenous and Anna (Witte) Webber. As a member of the "Greatest Generation" Joe was fiercely patriotic, and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946. He was a seagoing Marine, stationed aboard the USS Nevada. Joe worked for Monroe Calculator Co. in Boston, Mass., Ft. Worth, Waco, and Denver, Colo. for many years, before retiring in Valley Mills. He was a member of the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Joe served as City Marshal in Crawford for several years before hanging up his boots. Joe loved the outdoors and seemed happiest enjoying God's creations.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Webber; and sisters, Dorothy Erickson Paschal and Ada Murle Grubbs.

Joe is survived by his wife, Olga Louise; sons, Joseph P. Webber and Mark Webber, both of Austin, daughters, Cheryl McGlothlin, of San Marcos, and Nancy Bryant, of Waco; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Webber, of Longview; sister, Claudia Wallace, of Ft. Worth; and many other family members and friends.
