Born in Eddystone, PA, he was the son of the late Robert P. Fasig and Helen M. Coslett. He was the husband of Doris Martin Fasig, of Elizabethtown, and the late Mary J. Wilent Fasig.
Mr. Fasig was a mechanic for Otis Elevator Company, retiring in 1980 following 34 years of service.
He was a member of the first graduating class of J. P. McCaskey High School in 1938.
Mr. Fasig served in the U. S. Army as a Tech 4th Grade. He received the Purple Heart. He was a prisoner of War in Germany from Dec. 23, 1944 to Apr. 29, 1945.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Robert S., Jr., husband of Beverly Fasig, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Michael B., husband of Sheila M. Fasig, of Mount Joy, PA; one daughter, Vicki M., wife of Lloyd P. Hackman, Jr., of Reinholds, PA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester M.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Robert's Life Celebration service from the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, on Thursday at 6:30 PM with the Rev. Ralph F. Eberle officiating. Friends may call at Groff's on Thursday from 5:00 PM until time of service.
