He was born December 22, 1970, in Dalton, GA, the son of Robert Leon and Linda Shirley McGuire Abernathy. He worked with Black's Foundation Waterproofing. Surviving is wife, Ellen Abernathy, children, Robert Matthew Abernathy, David Lee Abernathy, Linda Michelle Abernathy, Ashley Abernathy, brothers, Michael Hayes, David Reynolds, Johnny Reynolds, sister, Janice Hayes, grandchild, Austen Green.
Graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday December 6, 2011 from the Summerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Matthew Abernathy, David Abernathy, Don McGeehan, Chris Green, Gerardo Surez. Honorary pallbearers, Henry Milsap and Billy Hardy.
Mr. Abernathy will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour.
