Death Summons Tonopah Miner
"Tonopah-William E. King, Tonopah resident for many years, who was considered one of the best all around miners in Nevada, died at his home here November 7th. Mr. King was born in Baker Oregon {this information is incorrect per his WWII draft registration, census records and his marriage record} and came to Nevada as a young man. Proficient in carpentry, welding and blacksmithing, he worked in Ely for number of years before coming to Tonopah to reside. A former member of the Elk Lodge in Ely, Mr. King demitted to the Tonopah Elks in 1953.
Surviving are his widow Mae Helen King of Tonopah; son William E. King Jr of Reno; daughter Mrs. Phyllis Eldredge of Vacaville, CA; brother B. F. King of Vale, OR; sisters Mrs. George Brown of Vale Acres, OR and Mrs. Josephine Smith of Athena, OR."
