Harold E. Kochis. In loving memory of Harold E. Kochis who passed away Jan. 16, 2012. He was born Jan. 11, 1929. Preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Verna; parents-in-law, Clarence and Mirll Harpel. Harold is survived by wife, June; children, David (Elva), Michael (Melissa), Brian (Jeanie), Nancy, Shelley (Michael) Carara; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Delores), Robert (Jola); many nieces, nephews and loving friends. He was always interested in politics and loved sports, especially basketball, softball, baseball and most of all, bowling. Awarded Pueblo and Colorado Bowler of the Year and city and state halls of fame member. Attended 35 national bowling tournaments, served as Pueblo and Colorado state bowling secretary many years and enjoyed running the bowling tournaments. Harold retired from CF&I after 33 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a life member of BPOE Elks No. 90. In better health, he volunteered at the Bessemer Museum. Harold diligently served as chair of the Minnequa Credit Union for many years. He enjoyed fishing trips with family and friends, especially at Creede and South Fork. Most of all, he was a loyal and loving family man and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Pikes Peak Hospice or Wesley United Methodist Church or charity of choice. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 85 Stanford, Pueblo.
