On August 18, 2011, Farrell Wayne Taylor Sr., 76, of Mesquite, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, August 19, 2011 in a Sunnyvale Hospital. Funeral services celebrating Farrell's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, with his son Pastor Forrest Taylor officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mr. Taylor was born in Josephine, Texas on October 17, 1934. He was the son of the late Theron Taylor and Flora Rogers Taylor. He was raised and educated in Josephine and Royse City. He entered the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and faithfully served our country until his discharge in 1956. After returning home, he married the love of his life Wilma Smith on November 9, 1956 in Midland, Texas. They lived in Midland where he worked as a draftsman for Midland Map Company. After moving around and working for various oil companies, they finally settled in Mesquite, where he became employed as a draftsman for Browning Oil Company in Dallas, retiring in 2006. His daughter, Suzanne Crenshaw and son, Larry Taylor both preceded him in death on March 13, 1993. Farrell was a deacon at Faith Baptist Church in Dallas. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying; he also enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer, but loved spending time with his family more than anything else. He is loved and will be missed by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Wilma Taylor of Mesquite; sons, Farrell Wayne Taylor Jr. & his wife Melissa of Combine and Pastor Forrest Glenn Taylor & his wife Tiffany of Mesquite; grandchildren, Brandi, Holly, Brian, Diana, Christina, Doug, Toby and Ana; Great-grandchildren, Tommy, Austin, Margo, Hayden, Hannah, John, Luke, Aubrey, Nakayla, Lily and Dylan.
