Charolette Virginia Vanaltenburg was born July 26, 1951 in Sallisaw, OK to Floyd Albert & Charolette Virginia (Quinton) Vanaltenburg and passed from this life January 20, 2012 at the age of 60. Charolette loved music, reading and dogs. She was proud of her Cherokee Heritage. She attended the University of Tulsa and the University of Oklahoma. She was invited and attended Harvard University for a summer. She had a BS in Microbiology. Charolette worked as a phlebotomist at St John Medical Center; a manager at Tulsa Airport Parking; and her final job, at the Marshal's Office at the Hard Rock Cherokee Casino was the one she enjoyed and truly loved. Charolette is preceded in death by her father and her brother, Floyd Albert Vanaltenburg, Jr. She is survived by her mother; her sisters, Betty Vanaltenburg and Peggy Candreia; and her two pets, Yona & Scooby. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Charolette's memory to the Akdar Shrine Hospital Patient Transportation Fund, 2808 South Sheridan, Tulsa, OK 74129. Charolette will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and her funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, all at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
