Robert Paul Burton, 91, of Shippensburg, formerly of Palmyra, died on Mon., Jan. 16, @ Chamnbersburg Hospital.
He was born Wed., May 12, 1920 in Alligator, MS, the youngest child of the late John Thomas & Rosa Kinard (Wyse) Burton.
Bob graduated from Duncan High School in 1937 & attened business school in Bowing Green, KY, for 1 Yr.He started his first job as an office boy @ True Temper Corp. in 1938. He retired from the same Co. as plant mgr. in 1960.
He served in the U.S Army infantry in WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Marguerite (Williams) Burton, to whom he was married for 67 yrs. @ the time of her death in 2006. Bob is survived by his daughter, Shelia Malone, of Walnut Bottom; his son, Robert Paul Burton Jr & his wife Virginia (Gene) of Jefferson, OH; & a grandson, Christopher Alan Malone.
Bob was preceded in death by his 6 siblings.
Bob, like his wife before him, donated his body to medical science through the Humanity's Gift Program.
