AMMAN, BARBARA J., CHESANING, MICHIGAN. Passed away Wednesday evening, February 21, 1996, at home. Age 67 years. She was born May 25 1928 the daughter of Chester Ray and Dorothy (Taubitz) Lake. She resided most of her life in Chesaning. She married Casper J. Amman in 1951; he predeceased her on November 16, 1975. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She had worked five years for Universal in Owosso. She then worked 37 years for the Peet Packing Company. She was a member of Local #39 of the United Food and Commerical Workers Union. Surviving are four children, the Lawrence and Jean Hunt family of Fenton; sister Elizabeth Amman, O.P. of Grand Rapids; Thomas and Charlene Amman family of Chesaning; Elaine and Kenneth Perkins Jr; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence and Genevieve Lake. She was predeceased by one brother, Leland Lake and two sisters, Mildred Hunt and Marion Bloomfield. Funeral Mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Chesaning. Rev. Fr. Joseph Griffin will officiate with burial in St. Michael Cemetery, Maple Grove. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning all day Friday and then at the church on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. There will be a scipture service at 7:00 p.m. Friday. The Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw VNA Hospice or their favorite charity.
