Caroline Amelia Fox was the daughter of General Hon. Henry Edward Fox and Marianne Clayton. She married Lt.-Gen. Sir William Francis Patrick Napier, son of Colonel Hon. George Napier and Lady Sarah Lennox, on 14 March 1812.
In 1851 Caroline Clarinda Townsend left £100 to Caroline Amelia Napier, wife of General Sir William Napier, and £50 to each of their children. They were the first beneficiaries named in the will. The precise relationship is not known but possibly godmother-goddaughter.
