FLAGER, HERBERT L. —

Of Jackson, passed away at W. A. Foote Memorial Hospital Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the age of 79. Mr. Flager was born in Tecumseh, MI on November 5, 1925 to Vernon and Lola (Ensign) Flager. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Blanche Felde and his second wife, Alice Flager; daughter, Vickie Flager; several brothers and sisters. He is survived by daughter, Pamela "Pamie" McCrum; son, Michael "Butch" (Barbara) Flager; stepdaughter, Cynthia (Larry) Kurtz; two grandchildren, Herbert (Kimberly) McCrum and Heidi (Todd) DeVolder; five great-grandchildren, Autumn and Morgan McCrum, Chelsea DeVolder, Ashley (Kelly) DeForest and Paul Kope; one great-great-grandchild, Kelsey DeForest; brother, Douglas (Dorothy) Flager and sister, Florence Hurford; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Flager retired from Clark Equipment Corporation after 30-plus years of service. He served his country during World War II in the United States Marine Corps, in which he participated in action in the assault and capture of Iwo Jima Island and Volcano Island, receiving a Purple Heart after being wounded in action on March 2, 1945. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 823, was an avid sportsman who especially watched the Ohio State Buckeyes. Special thank you to the staff at Arbor North for the tender care of our Dad. Mr. Flager is at the WATSON FUNERAL CHAPEL where services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Kris Abbey officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities of Jackson, 407 S. Mechanic St., Jackson, MI 49201.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
