Jack Hunter passed away at North Platte, Nebraska where he had been living with a niece, Mrs. A. I. Ireland. Jack, a former resident of Douglas, was a veteran of World War II and also Korea. After his discharge, he moved to Houston, Texas and for the past 5 1/2 years had resided there with his sister, Evalena Waters. He was employed by Underwood and Neunaus (sp) & Company of Houston for 21 years and at the time of his medical retirement in May 1976, was assistant vice president. He is survived by one daughter, Zetta Guertin and one grandson, T. J. Guertin of Redmond, Washington; three sisters, Evalena Waters of Houston, Texas; Margie Stephens of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Cleo Goodrich of Douglas, Wy.; also a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. (Information was obtained from his obituary in the Douglas Budget Jan. 27, 1977 and cemetery records.)
