Mary L. (Salomone) Salamone of Mentor, Ohio, died died January 5, 2008 at her home at age 88 and was buried in Mentor Cemetery. She was born October 7, 1919 in Yukon, PA, the daughter of John SALOMONE and Susan M. "Susie" (Yazzani) Salomone. Her husband, Edward Joseph Salamone was born Feb. 1, 1930 in PA, the son of Samuel SALAMONE and Tressa CALSI who were born in Italy. Edward died Jan 11, 2000 in a Mentor nursing home at age 69, an Army veteran. Mary formerly of Eastlake, had lived in Mentor for 11 years. She was cashier at Rini's in Willoughby Hills for 10 years until 1982 and before that she was a cashier at various grocery stores in Pennsylvania and Ohio. She was a member of Local 880, an avid baker, gardener, cook and loved to arrange flowers. Mrs. Salamone raised Christmas cactus and African violets and she had a wide range of musical interests.

MARY'S PARENTS: John SALOMONE of 21201 South Lake Shore Blvd., Cleveland, born Dec 18, 1887 in Italy, died May 8, 1949 at age 61. Susan M. "Susie" (Yazzani) Salomone born 1900 in Pennsylvania, died Feb. 28, 1954 at age 63. John immigrated to the US in 1912 and married at age 29 (Susie was 17). He was 5 ft 4, weighed, 185 pounds and worked as a coal miner for the Pittsburgh Coal Company, Ocean 5, Smithdale, PA in April 1942, still living in Yukon, PA.
