Charlotte M. McCrosky, 90, 1070 W. 600 South, passed away at her home Saturday morning.

She was born on Oct. 20, 1920, south of Rochester to Harry and Sylvia (Collins) Jewell.

Charlotte attended Woodrow school south of Rochester through the fifth grade, then the Kewanna school through eighth grade. She graduated from Fulton High School in 1938.

Walter Gerald "Bill" McCrosky and Charlotte were married Jan. 1, 1942. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and compiling family genealogy books. She actively supported her children with their 4-H projects and music lessons. She taught the beginners' Sunday school class for many years at the Fulton EUB Church.

Charlotte retired after working 22 years in the business office at Woodlawn Hospital. After retiring she volunteered in the gift shop at the hospital for 20 more years.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the messenger/lend-a-hand Sunday school class. She had been a member of the Mount Olive Community Club for many years.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 69 1/2 years; son Dr. Don McCrosky and wife Lois, Waterloo, Ill.; daughter Julia Baas and husband Jan, Berthoud, Colo.; five grandchildren, Chad Baas, David McCrosky, Rob Baas, Melinda Oatman, all of Colorado, and Laura Berkery Illinois; brother Walter Jewell, California; and nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carlos Jewell.

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Charlotte M. McCrosky is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with the Rev. Maurice Grindle officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
