By 1925, he had another child, Edward, who traveled with the family from Bremen, Germany on 1 Oct 1925 to New York on 12 Oct 1925 on the ship U.S.S. Republic. It is unknown when they traveled to Germany but it was probably some time in 1925.
It is interesting to note that Joseph's military registration cards, filled out by him, indicate two different locations of his birth. In 1917 he reported being born in Bohemia, Austria. In 1942 he listed Bohemia, Czechoslovakia.
He was working as a taxi driver in 1942 and did many other kinds of work throughout his life. He and his wife lived in Floral Park, Queens, New York for many years.
