She was born on January 20, 1918, in Nocona, Texas, and moved to Corpus Christi in 1946 from Austin. She was a member of the P.P.G. Wives. She was a graduate of the University of Texas and taught school for several years. She was a member of the Travis Baptist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her husband, Frank: five daughters, Julia Myers of San Antonio, Mrs. Herbert (Betty) Teal Jr., Mrs. Buddy (Peggy) Levy, both of Houston, Mrs. Jack (Beverly) Randall, and Mrs. Gray (Susan) Campbell, both of Corpus Christi; four brothers, Norman and Joel Payton, both of Austin, Lonnie Payton of Carmichael California, and Joy Payton of Houston; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Clifford Jackson Funeral Home Chapel on Kostoryz Road with Dr. William Storm officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lonnie, Norman, Joel and Joy Payton, Leslie Kunze, A.E. Campbell, and David Levy.
The family has requested that Memorials be given to the American Cancer Society.
