Bradley B. (possibly for "Barney") Woodmansee was the son of Thomas and Sibbel (Bedon) Woodmansee and he married Sylphina Maria Sheldon on February 2, 1837. In October 1848 they migrated from New York to make their home in LaGrange, Lorain County, Ohio, where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Together B. B. and Sylphina had three children, Benjamin Thomas Woodmansee (1838 - 1893), Polly M. (1844 - 1864), and David (1852 - 1919). Polly and David are also interred in the LaGrange Twp. Cemetery, and it is next to Polly where a concrete base was set to hold two pillars, which are missing. Located in the "old" part of the cemetery in the most south-western corner, this base remains next to their daughter's headstone and it is believed to be the resting place of Bradley B. and Sylphina Maria (Sheldon) Woodmansee. A like base was used for her parents also located in this cemetery.

Local newspapers frequently memtioned members of the family and helped tie lose ends together in research. While Polly died at age 19, Benjamin T. Woodmansee married Elizabeth Jane Luce and they had 10 children of record. Benjamin moved to Michigan in the late 1880's / early 1890's where and he died in Gratiot County of consumption in 1893, and his death record and headstone were located there in 2006. Elizabeth Jane Luce returned to LaGrange and married Egbert Hastings. David married Ida L. Knapp, and while they did not have any children, they were often noted in newspaper clippings for their community interests.

This family has been of great interest in my research, and it would be interesting to meet anyone interested in their genealogy.
