On August 12, 1912, at Avoca, Saint Clair county, she married widower Stephen John Lambkin, a son of Stephen John Lambkin and Mary Jane Fischer. Their marriage produced four children, two daughters and two sons. Dorie also raised her husband's two children from his first marriage. Their 14-year marriage ended with the death of her husband Stephen. Though Dorie never did remarry, she had a close gentleman friend named Paul.
Dorie died in a foster care home at age 86.
