Heinrick(Henry)is the 2nd child of Andrew Bollensen & Caroline Tolle.

Henry Married Susanna Lehner on Feb 1,1866 in Macomb Co.,Mi.
Together they had 4 children; Lena(Carlena)Dorthia, Louis S, John W. and Anna.

Henry Married Julia J.Luth on Sept 24,1882. Together they had 4 children; Henry(Heinnne), Edward, Leslie Theodore and Mildred Christine.

Mustered September 10, 1861.
Discharged for disability at Baltimore, Maryland, December 14, 1863. Present residence, Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
Enlistment Rank: Private.
Pension: Pension Request filed by veteran 12/11/1871, Application 370917.
Widow (Julia) filed request 7/21/1903, Application 788423.

Researchers Note: The pension application submitted by this veteran indicates service in Company I, First Michigan Cavalry. To that end, the following is included.

Enlisted in Company I, First Michigan Cavalry
, as Corporal, November 6, 1863, at Clinton, for 3 years, age 21.
Mustered November 13, 1863.
Discharged at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Jun 29, 1865.
Enlistment Rank: Corporal.

Researchers Note: There is a conflict in the date of discharge from the Fifth Michigan Infantry and enlistment in the First Michigan Cavalry. The explanation is unknown and beyond the scope of this study. Suffice it to say that the pension application submitted by this veteran indicates that this is one and the same person, date conflict notwithstanding.

Also on his Military papers he is listen as being part of the Company L, First Michigan Cavalry. I have not dates for this, at this time.

HENRY BOLLENSEN DROPS DEAD
--------------------------

Henry Bollensen, one of the oldest business men of the city, dropped dead at noon today, as he was about to leave his saloon for dinner.
He was about 60 years of age , an old Union soldier, and a man of considerable property. He leaves a widow and three children.
