Son of George M. (Lane) Burton born May 1851 TN, died aft 1920 Eidson, Hawkins, TN -and- Sarah F. Winstead born Jan 1857 Hawkins, TN, died 17 Jul 1932 Hawkins, TN.

The attached obituary accidentally omitted his oldest son, James Gale Burton (1917-1972) and family, who were living in Southern California at the time of his death.

Jess B. Burton, 82, of Route 1, Russellville, died at his home Sunday morning.

He is survived by six sons, Charles, North Carolina, Roy and Morris, Surgoinsville, Jimmy, Kenneth, and Buddy, Maryland; seven daughters, Mrs. Estelle Winegar, Mrs. Hazel Laster, both of Surgoinsville, Mrs. Jessie Laster, Jamestown, Tennessee, Mrs. Elvie Bailey, Mrs. Bobby Richards, Maryland, Mrs. Margaret Goins, Mrs. Janis Reeves, both of Russellville; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Jones, Rogersville; 65 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at the Colboch-Price Chapel with the Rev. F. A. Bundren, the Rev. Dewey Ward officiating. Interment was in Long's Bend Cemetery.

NOTE: Per my cousin Karen, Grandpa Jesse's birth year is 1892, not 1894 as what is on his WWI Draft Card, Social Security Application and headstone.
