Mrs. Jesse Dockery, 100, nee Irene A. Hummel of Fredericksburg, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Tristar Care Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Minister Edna McKenna officiating.

Graveside services and interment followed at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Somerset with Minister Ed Pavlicek officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Thursday evening, May 6.

Mrs. Dockery was born December 20, 1909, in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Marvin Hummel and Agnes Bushue Hummel.

Her first husband, Glenn A. Poe, preceded her in death. She then married Jesse Dockery who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons and spouses, including Richard Poe of Illinois; Robert and Mary Ann Poe of Arizona, and Roger and Marian Poe of Fredericksburg. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, and a half-sister, Barbara Ann Wiederhold of Tucson, Arizona.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, Mrs. Dockery was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Poe; two daughters, Glenda Summer and Velda Sons; a son Ronald Poe; a brother, Loren Hummel; a sister, Madeline Dobbins, and four siblings who died in infancy.

Pallbearers included Christoph Roesch, Jerry Janosek, Rick Burbes, Cris Campise, Dennis Hummel and Roger Poe.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
