History of Edward Douglas Bolton

Edward Douglas Bolton joined on Dec 3rd 1907 the Military , he was a Private in the 12 Cavalry in Company "B". They served in Fort William McKinley,Rizal,Philippines,Military and Naval Forces. He was Discharged on 18,Nov 1910.

Edward D.Bolton married Loretta Kathryn Tucker In Michigan on Oct 15, 1914. They had 3 Children, the 1st child Born and died Oct, 14 1915 named Beverly Loretta, 2nd child was born Aug, 28 1917 named Beverly Edward Elizabeth, and his 3rd child a Son was born on June 14,1920 named Joseph Kenneth. Ed NEVER returned to Loretta, Believed to have left before Joseph was born. They NEVER divorced. (I guess he returned one last time in the late 1930's early 1940's trying to start up were he left off but did not last long he left again)!

Edward Douglas Bolton married Cleo Masoner on Jan 5, 1920 in Oklahoma. They were in a Vaudevillian Group together called "The Roseland Maids", they were considered a Refined Vaudeville Entertainers. They traveled to a few states between 1920-1921.

Edward D. Bolton married Bertha Lardie on June 16, 1931 in Roseville, Macomb, Michigan. The witness to there marriage were; Pete Bommarito and Clara Kelly both of Detroit, Michigan.

I have NO proof to the Divorces to ANY of his first 3 wives, and NO proof of marriage to his 4th wife.

Edward Douglas in New York, in 1941 met a lady Virginia Ann Roche (Jean), and they had A daughter on March 26, 1951 named Mary Ann Douglas. We are not sure Edward and Jean were married, but they lived and loved as husband and wife till his death in 1956. He was also Step-Father to Jean son James Roche Wittmer.

I listed James as his step son because by blood it is true, but from my understanding James and Ed were Father and Son regardless of blood !!! They had a very special connection !!

*Edward had only one Sibling, Her name was Gertrude, she was the daughter of his father and Step mother Gertrude.*

~ His date of Birth is 4,Oct 1889.

I have found Edward Bolton was part of a Vaudevillian group Called "The Four Harmony Chaps", in the show " The Girls in Toyland". They toured in a few States in 1917-18.His name while in this group was Ed Bolton, his wife Loretto's sister husband John White was also in this show and part of the "The Four Harmony Chaps".

At some point Edward changed his name from Bolton to Douglas, reasons are unknown, There is story's with no Fact yet, that he was part of the "Purple Gang" and Owned a "Speak Easy" in Detroit in the 20's. I think he changed his name because he was still married to Laretto. There for he would have been a Polygamist. Having THREE wives.
