Regis "Reg" Parton Was a Navy swimmer who made the 1940 US Olympic Swim Team although those Olympics were cancelled. He also arranged to attempt to be the first person to swim the entire Panama Canal non-stop.

Regis moved to Hollywood in the 1940's and started out as a stuntman in movies. From there he went on to play roles ranging from cowpokes to space aliens. His early credits include the Abbott and Costello fantasy Keep 'Em Flying (1941) and Backlash (1956). During the '50s, he specialized in westerns and in the '60s, Parton was a stunt coordinator for A.C. Lyles Paramount westerns. In addition to feature-film work, Parton performed in numerous television series including Rawhide, Branded and The Green Hornet. His daughter Regina became an actress and founded the United Stuntwoman's Association.
