He was the son of Grace L. Bride of Dinwiddie and the late Raymond F. Bride. He attended the "Old Carson School" as a child and graduated from Dinwiddie High School. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Bride was a life member of Colonial Heights Fire & EMS, a member of Blandford Lodge No. 3 A.F. & A.M., and a member of Second Baptist Church. He retired from Verizon after 34 years of service.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Bride is survived by his wife, Martha W. Bride; son, Richard Craig Bride and wife, Dawn; daughter, Kimberly Bride Bryant and husband, Jonathan, all of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Jessica Bryant, Hunter Bride, Noah Bryant and Carson Bride; sister, Carol B. Miller; sister-in-law, Janice F. Whitley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church with Dr. Joseph Lewis officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Blandford Cemetery.
