Roscoe L. Greene, age 91, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on December 15, 2011 at Tidewell Hospice Sarasota House in Sarasota, FL. Born in Boone, NC, he was the son of the late Hoy Patterson and Jennie Alverta Wagner Greene and husband of 65 years to the late Edna Lou Greene. A farmer for many years, he worked early in life at Glenn L. Martin before owning and operating Greene Brother's Construction Company building custom homes with his brother. A charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bel Air, MD, he served as deacon, trustee and taught Sunday school. He was also a part of the Steeple move from Baltimore Pike to the church where it is today.

Mr. Greene is survived by his daughters, Nancy Brewer and her husband, Jesse, of Bel Air, MD and Mary Greene Lee of Sarasota, FL; sisters, Wilma Bruffey of Allentown, PA, Lucy Hampton of Bel Air, MD and Grace Jarvis of Polk City, FL; and grandchildren, Gregory R. Brewer of North East, MD, Michael J. Brewer of Weaverville, NC, Lauren M. Brooks of Bel Air, MD, Hollie H. Wells of Sarasota, FL, Mark A. Greene of Cary, NC, and Jeffrey S. Hendricks of Sarasota, FL.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, James Greene, sisters, Rosedna McMahan and Levaun Meehan and grandson, Derek M. Brewer.


Pallbearers were Gregory and Michael Brewer, Mark Greene, Jeffrey Hendricks, Shawn Wells, and Carl Brooks.
