THOMAS RITES HERE TUESDAY: Services for Rufus Jefferson Thomas of Memphis, former West Memphian, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Forest Memorial Park, Whitehaven, Tenn.

Mr. Thomas, who was 38, died Sunday at his home in Memphis. He operated Thomas' Gulf Service Station in memphis. Mr. Thomas lived in West Memphis for 12 years before moving to Memphis about a year ago.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Gladys Thomas; four sons, Rufus Alton Thomas, Dwan Edwin Thomas, David Ronald Thomas, and Carl Allen Thomas, all of Memphis; two daugters, Betty Ann Thomas, and Janice Elaine Thomas, both of Memphis; two brothers, Bill Thomas of Guin, Ala., and Frank Thomas of California; and three sisters, Mrs. Edwina Gann of Guin, Mrs. Sarah Jane Garrison of Brilliant, Ala., and Mrs. Irene Holland of Memphis."
