Joseph V. Furando, age 39, of Guilford CT, was on a business trip in New Hampshire in May 1979. He was last seen in Newton MA on May 16, 1979, and had reservations at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth NH for later that evening. Joseph's body was found on Brewer Road just off of Route 150 in Kensington NH on May 17, 1979, approximately 20 feet from his vehicle. An autopsy revealed that he had been murdered.

Joseph Furando was the son of Joseph and Josephine (Frasco) Furando. He attended Naugatuck High School in Naugatuck CT. He married Margaret F. Montague on 18 Mar 1978 in Oxford CT. Mr. Furando was employed by Cutler-Hammer Corp., a Connecticut electronics company.
