He was born Nov. 11, 1948, in Kansas City, Mo., to Arnold J. and Olga Epp Richert, who preceded him in death.
On Dec. 13, 1987, he married Linda N. Brown Goforth.
After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1971 until 1973, he returned to Missouri and joined his parents business, Richert Construction Co., working as a builder and real estate developer. He eventually took over the business from his parents and continued in that endeavor until retiring a few years ago.
He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where he had served on the building committee for the sanctuary, and helped prepare Senior Saints meals.
He had served on the Lebanon City Council for a total of 17 years, from 1989 through 1999, and again from 2001 until 2009. He had served also on the Lebanon Park Board.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; three sons, Adam Richert, of Creve Coeur; Jamie Goforth and his wife, Jamie, of Lebanon, and Jeremy Goforth and his wife, Holly, of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Ella, Jackson, and Jay; a sister, Wanda Nichoalds, of St. Louis, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Allen Dale Richert will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, in the First Baptist Church of Lebanon with the Rev. Matt Taylor officiating.
Entombment will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to First Baptist Church and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
