Mrs. Edith E. Beck of 1308 North Adams Street, Carroll, was found dead at her home early Friday afternoon, Dec. 8. She was a sales clerk at Kelly's Shoe Store here for about 24 years.
Dr. Roland B. Morrison, Carroll county medical examiner, said that Mrs. Beck died of an apparent heart attack shortly before midnight Thursday, Dec. 7, and was found by a member of her family after she did not report to work.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll, with the Rev. Ernest F. Martin, D. D., officiating. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beck was born Nov. 15, 1908, at Sac City, a daughter of Merton and Anna Hochwender Campbell, and was a graduate of Sac City High School. She was married to Herbert C. Beck at Rockwell City Oct. 10, 1927, and had lived in the Carroll area about 45 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Central Rebekah Lodge No. 191.
Surviving are two sons, Richard D. and Raymond J., both of Carroll; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Lemmon of Carroll and Mrs. Leon (Julia) Galbraith of Strom Lake; and a brother, Harry Campbell of California.
Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband in 1959, and two sisters.
