Heater of Elwood; 4 Children – Larry (Debbie) Heater of Anderson, Ricky (Eva) Heater of Crystal, NV, Tricia Ruben of Fishers, and Harold (Connie) Heater of Elwood; Twin Brother – Jim (Jackie) Heater of Anderson; Sister – Violet Sutton of Kennesaw, GA; 7 Grandchildren – Tonya Blackwell, April Mensick, Ricky Lee Heater, Jr., Ross Planalp, Jerrico Planalp, Thomas Heater, and Jackie Idlewine; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Omer was preceded in death by his parents; 2 Sisters – Opal Davis and Dorothy Sanders; and 2 Brothers – Frank Heater and Leon Heater.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, December 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Alexandria with Rev. Cliff Richardson and Rev. Doug Henkelman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood where military graveside honors will be conducted by the U.S. Military and the Elwood V.F.W. Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Alexandria First Baptist Church through the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.copherfeslermay.com.
