Orval Ray Schramm passed away surrounded by family on Monday December 12, 2011. He was born November 28, 1928 in Payson, Utah to Martin Ferdinand and Hattie Shepherd Schramm. He graduated from Payson High School in 1947, and took some college classes at BYU in agriculture.

Orval served in the Army in the Korean War. He married Shirley Mae Hansen on March 21, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They later divorced. He married Vivian R. Jensen on December 28, 1985. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0028 in Springville, Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as Ward Clerk in the Genola 1st Ward, Genola, Utah. He and his wife Vivian served a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois 1998-1999. He was a High Priest at the time of his death. Orval enjoyed music, woodworking, camping and spending time with his family.

He is survived by: his wife Vivian; children, Colleen (Lou) Balogh, Orem, Utah; Steven (Marci) Schramm, Orem, Utah; Susan (Cory) Kester, Highland, Utah; Marianne (Nico) Snel, Highland, Utah; Michael (Vivian) Schramm, Perry, Utah; Step-children Dennis "D.R." (Jerri) Jensen, Preston, Idaho; Guy (Theresa) Jensen, Oakland, Arkansas; DeAnn Jensen, Salem, Utah; Jannette (Harold) Boone, Salt Lake City, Utah; Sabrina (James) Perry, Spanish Fork, Utah; Terri Lyn Dupin, Spanish Fork, Utah; 2 brothers Roland (Thelma) Schramm, Ogden, Utah; Clarence (Doris) Schramm, Fruit Heights, Utah; 1 sister Muriel (Melvin) Meredith, West Mtn.; and sister-in-law Kathryn Schramm, Highland, Utah; 49 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers, Gordon and Paul; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday December 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hobble Creek 13th Ward Chapel, 555 South Averett Ave. (600 East), Springville, Utah. Viewings will be Friday December 16, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah, and 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Goshen City Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the Springville American Legion, Post #28
