BUSINESS MAN ARRESTED ON TWO CHARGES
Samuel J. Dohrmann, 62, Dies: F. H. Poschinger Slated for Manslaughter.
FAILED TO STOP, CLAIM
Found lying in a ditch on the Brownsboro Road near Hite Avenue, his pet dog licking his face, Samuel J. Dohrmann, 62 years old, 340 Raymond Avenue, cashier of the Security Bank, and a prominent churchman, succumbed at 3:30 Sunday afternoon before he could be rushed to the City Hospital…..They found he suffered a severe fracture of the skull and bruises, according to hospital records….
Mr. Dohrmann, who was financial secretary of the Crescent Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Crescent Hill Lodge of Masons, had gone for a Sunday afternoon stroll with his dog, his family said.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kate Dohrmann; four sons, Leavell Dohrmann, Chicago; Samuel Dohrmann, Jr., Greenville S.C.; Clarence Dohrmann and William Dohrmann; four daughters, Mrs. Frank Dohrmann Mountain View. N. J.; Mrs. Davie Rose, Miss Virginia Dohrmann and Miss Ruth Dohrmann; a brother, Fred Dohrmann, and a sister, Mrs. Edward Anderson.
Mr. Dohrmann had been connected with the Security Bank for thirty-six years. His first position there was as a bookkeeper. In 1926 he was promoted to the position of cashier and had held the office since.
