Mary A. Driver, 79, Rice Lake, Wis., died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake. Jarocki Funeral Home & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements and services were held Saturday, March 24, from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Kevin Gordon officiating, with interment at the church cemetery.

Mary was born July 10, 1921, to Joseph and Mary (Mischquist) LaFrenier at Iron River Village, Mich., later moving to Oconto, Wis. Following the death of her parents, she moved to Shell Lake, Wis. where she graduated from Shell Lake High School. She later attended nursing college and received her certification as an LPNB. In 1985 she retired from nursing with over 30 years of experience.

On March 3, 1943, Mary married Clarence Heldstab at Dobie, Wis., who died in September 1968. On June 6, 1975, she married William Driver at Rice Lake, Wis.

She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and a member of the Women of the Moose. She loved to travel, read, dance and crochet.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Barbara Musolf and Claire (Jim) Randall, both of Rice Lake, and Mary (Mike) Oliver of Chippewa Falls; sons, Thomas Heldstab of Rice Lake and David (Jean) Heldstab of Buckley, Wash.; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Russell LaFrenier of Fairchild, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clarence Heldstab; a sister, Gayle; and three brothers, Joseph, Wilbur, and David LaFrenier.
