Funeral services for Mr. John "J.W." Coody will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Tioga United Pentecostal Church, Tioga with Reverends Donald Privett, Danny Aycock and Allen Hatten officiating. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Gardens, Pollock, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Coody, age 75, of Esler Field, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria.
He was a member of Tioga United Pentecostal Church. He was the founder of Coody Roofing, and operator for 50 years. He was a La. National Guard Veteran. He loved to help build and promote churches. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Lillie Coody.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Atwood Coody of Esler Field; five sons, John Coody (Donna) of Branson, MO, Karl Coody (Janelle) of Esler Field, Kenneth Coody (Sylvia) of Esler Field, Greg Coody (Carol) of Pollock and Frank Coody of Esler Field; three brothers, David Coody of Pineville, Robert Coody of Esler Field and Oscar Coody of Esler Field; five sisters, Mary Whited of Esler Field, Lou Smith of Deville, Carolyn Coody of Esler Field, Barbara Nation of Deville, Linda Killian of Esler Field; special granddaughter, Missy "Elmo" Tacker; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
